Reluctancy playing middle…
I am finding more and more kids shying away from playing middle blocker today. Even the top team/ taller kids that own the position are trying to shift to a pin player and it’s becoming a challenge to get kids to commit to that position for a season. They feel it hurts them recruiting wise, even if they’re 6’… is anyone else experiencing this?

It's like finding a unicorn to play middle and be athletic enough to move and be available in the middle. Kids think it's an insult that they are a MB instead of a pin. With my 17s, we are running a triple middle this season because I have 1 true middle. It's rough. I tell kids all the time you will play more if you're a middle! Real middles want to go to the RS.
